Halloween Safety Tips from HTHA
Spooky season is here, and the Houma-Terrebonne Housing Authority wants everyone to have a safe and fun Halloween! Whether you’re out trick-or-treating with the kids or passing out candy at home, a little preparation can make a big difference.
Here are a few quick reminders for a safe Halloween night:
- Stay visible. Carry flashlights or glow sticks and add reflective tape to costumes and bags.
- Watch for traffic. Use sidewalks where possible and always cross at corners or crosswalks.
- Check costumes for safety. Make sure masks don’t block vision and that costumes fit properly to avoid trips and falls.
- Inspect treats before eating. Keep an eye out for anything unwrapped or suspicious.
- Keep decorations safe. Use battery-powered candles in pumpkins instead of open flames.
From all of us at HTHA, have a fun, festive, and safe Halloween!
